Your new companyI'm currently working with a Merseyside-based housing provider seeking an experienced Tenancy Sustainment Assistant to join its Housing Services team on a permanent basis. With a strong focus on supporting customers to maintain successful tenancies and achieve positive outcomes, this organisation is committed to delivering person-centred services that make a genuine difference within local communities.
Your new roleAs a Tenancy Sustainment Officer, you will work directly with customers who require additional support to sustain their tenancy and live independently. Managing a varied caseload, you will provide early intervention and tailored support to residents facing challenges including financial hardship, mental health concerns, social isolation, domestic abuse, anti-social behaviour and tenancy-related issues.
Key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting customers at risk of tenancy breakdown, eviction or homelessness.
  • Carrying out home visits, needs assessments and welfare checks.
  • Developing and reviewing support plans to help residents achieve sustainable outcomes.
  • Working closely with Housing Officers, local authorities and external support agencies.
  • Assisting customers with access to welfare benefits, debt advice, health services, employment support and community resources.
  • Identifying and responding appropriately to safeguarding concerns.
  • Supporting new tenants to successfully settle into their homes and communities.
  • Maintaining accurate case records and contributing to service performance targets.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Previous experience in tenancy sustainment, housing management, homelessness prevention, floating support or a similar housing-related role.
  • Experience supporting vulnerable customers and managing complex cases.
  • A strong understanding of safeguarding, welfare benefits and support services.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • The ability to work independently and prioritise a busy caseload effectively.
  • A proactive and solutions-focused approach to problem-solving.
  • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
