Junior Estimator

Job Type: Full-time Temp-Permanent
Salary: £30,000-£40,000

Role Overview

AMLR are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Estimator to join our estimating team. The successful candidate will support the preparation of accurate and competitive cost estimates and quotations for projects, while developing their knowledge and experience within the estimating and engineering industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation of detailed cost estimates, tenders and quotations.
• Review drawings, specifications, schedules and other project documentation.
• Take off quantities from drawings and prepare bills of quantities where required.
• Obtain and compare supplier and subcontractor quotations.
• Assist with pricing materials, labour, plant and subcontractor costs.
• Maintain accurate estimating records, databases and pricing information.
• Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, clients and other members of the project team.
• Assist Senior Estimators with tender submissions and cost analysis.
• Identify potential cost risks, omissions and discrepancies within tender documentation.

Skills & Experience

• Some experience or knowledge of estimating, engineering or maufacturing
• Strong numerical and analytical skills.
• Good attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications.
• Good IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel and Word.

Qualifications

A relevant qualification in engineering or manufacturing would be advantageous
