Global Account Executive

Salary: £80,000–£90,000 + bonus + Car allowance
Location: Ideally Midlands — home or office based, with significant travel to plants and customers’ premises

Summary

Responsible for the Global Key Accounts for a large Metals Group, including Rolls-Royce.
Candidates must have aerospace experience; Rolls-Royce experience is preferable.

Essential functions

  • Maintain and cultivate key account relationships across the territory, with focus on major accounts and emerging revenue streams
  • Maintain key accounts with the existing customer base
  • Maintain and report on contractual compliance across all key accounts and relevant company sites
  • Develop close working relationships with global commercial and sales leadership, management and wider teams
  • Contribute to strategic commercial planning — lead thinker for the key account and product stream
  • Find new opportunities with key accounts for both Titanium and Nickel product streams
  • Lead within the sales team and across ops, technical, customer service, finance and product management to optimise commercial returns and service

Additional responsibilities

  • Competitive updates on key accounts (market share, product-stream share, opportunities, growth requirements)
  • Develop, communicate and implement sales growth strategies and processes
  • Create and win incremental sales (focus EU / UK)
  • Regular key-account visits and senior-level reviews
  • “Thought leader” on product requirements, selling trends, competitive landscape and marketing communications
  • Input to sales forecasting (daily / weekly / monthly / quarterly)
  • Sales reports: volume, growth, opportunities, expansion and competitor analysis
  • Understand complex supply chains; present product capabilities
  • Special projects as required

Qualifications / competencies

  • Experience of executive leadership and management of a global OEM account
  • Able to understand and draft complex contracts (legal, technical, commercial, financial)
  • Strong budgetary and forecasting management (margins, costs, pricing)
  • Clear executive summaries, presentations and reports
  • Solid global business perspective; influence senior management on critical sales/commercial issues
  • Strategic, analytical, conceptual and innovative thinking
  • Excellent communication, organisation, problem resolution and presentation
  • Strong MS Office; sales/marketing databases; SAP preferred

Education and experience

  • Degree preferred — Engineering, Materials Science, Metallurgy or related
  • 5–10 years proven sales/commercial experience, ideally Aerospace, customer-facing
  • Ongoing professional/career development
  • Strategic leadership of sales/commercial resources; formulate and administer core sales strategies, plans, policies and procedures
