What You'll Be Doing

Joining the school as a Key Stage 1 Teacher in Havering, you will have the opportunity to take ownership of your classroom and create a learning environment where pupils are encouraged to participate, challenge themselves and develop their confidence.

Your day-to-day role will include:

• Planning and delivering purposeful lessons that capture the interest of Key Stage 1 pupils.
• Building a classroom culture based on positivity, respect and high expectations.
• Using a range of teaching strategies to cater for different learning styles and abilities.
• Assessing children's work and using observations and data to support their development.
• Providing appropriate support and challenge to help pupils progress.
• Managing behaviour consistently and positively.
• Working closely with colleagues to share ideas and provide a joined-up approach to learning.
• Taking an active role in school activities and contributing to the wider school community.

The Person

The successful Key Stage 1 Teacher in Havering will ideally have:

• QTS and the right to teach in the UK.
• Previous experience teaching Key Stage 1 pupils.
• A secure knowledge of the Key Stage 1 curriculum.
• Strong organisation and classroom management skills.
• The ability to adapt lessons around the needs of individual learners.
• A creative and enthusiastic approach to teaching.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
• A genuine commitment to children's progress and wellbeing.
• An Enhanced DBS, or willingness to obtain one where necessary.
