Nationwide · Part Time · Remote working
We are working in partnership with Shape Talent, an award-winning specialist leadership
development, talent acceleration and gender equity consultancy, recognised for its work in advancing gender
equality and immersive leadership development programmes.
Shape Talent partners with blue-chip organisations across the UK, Europe and internationally to strengthen
leadership capability, accelerate diverse talent and remove organisational barriers to career progression.
We are seeking an experienced Leadership Development Consultant / Facilitator to join their small, growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for an accomplished leadership development professional with a strong background in corporate facilitation and coaching, who enjoys working with senior and aspiring leaders within large, complex organisations, across countries and cultures.
The role combines the design and delivery of impactful leadership development programmes with
clients to unlock leadership potential, accelerate talent progression and deliver meaningful, sustainable
behavioural change.
Whilst programme delivery will be your main focus, you will also contribute to the development of client
relationships, support business development opportunities and help shape innovative leadership solutions,
including programmes addressing the changing demands of leadership in the AI era.
Key Responsibilities
- Programme design and delivery: Design and deliver engaging leadership development programmes, workshops and behavioural change interventions for senior and aspiring leadership audiences, mostly delivered virtually, but a small portion delivered face-to-face.
- Group coaching: Facilitate group coaching sessions for small cohorts of established and emerging leaders (mostly delivered virtually)
- Individual coaching: Provide one-to-one coaching and development support, helping participants recognise their strengths, address development needs, enhance their leadership impact and achieve their career aspirations. Much of this will be through individual development planning, working with individuals and their line managers to create structured development plans, identifying key experiences and opportunities to accelerate their progression.
- Client management: Manage client projects and/or workstreams of client programmes, acting as the project lead and primary point of contact for the client, supported by an Operations Lead and a small delivery team.
- Client relationships and business development: Build trusted relationships with clients, contribute to proposals and client meetings, and identify opportunities for programme extensions, renewals and wider organisational development work.
- Programme and product development: Contribute to the ongoing design and evolution of innovative leadership development solutions, keeping the consultancy's offering relevant to changing organisational needs.
- Market and thought leadership: Maintain an awareness of emerging trends in leadership development, behavioural science, learning technologies and AI, contributing ideas and insights to support the consultancy's profile and proposition.
We are looking for a commercially astute leadership development professional who combines excellent
Facilitation and coaching skills with the ability to operate confidently in a fully remote / virtual corporate
consulting environment.
We are looking for candidates with:
- Extensive experience in leadership development and pedagogical design, gained either at Head of Learning & Development level within a large corporate organisation or at a senior level within a leadership development or organisational development consultancy.
- A strong track record in designing and delivering leadership development and behavioural change programmes for senior, commercially astute audiences.
- A thorough understanding of leadership capability, talent development and career progression within large, complex organisations.
- Confidence and experience in facilitating group coaching, leadership workshops and development programmes, both virtually and face to face.
- Experience of 1-on-1 development work, such as coaching, mentoring, 360 feedback, and advice regarding career development (particularly for women)
- An accredited coaching qualification (ACC, PCC or equivalent), supported by a minimum of 200 coaching hours.
- Strong commercial awareness and experience of developing and managing client relationships, ideally within a consultancy or professional services environment.
- A sophisticated communicator able to deliver nuanced behavioural change interventions with impact, and has the credibility to engage, influence and present confidently to senior executives and stakeholders.
- An evidence-based approach to leadership development, with a sound understanding of behavioural science, organisational psychology and effective learning methodologies.
- Excellent organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple client programmes and competing priorities.
- Remote working and virtual collaboration: Proven experience of working effectively within a fully remote environment, collaborating closely with colleagues and clients using Microsoft Teams or similar virtual communication and collaboration platforms.
- Confident in designing and delivering training, coaching and facilitation sessions virtually, maintaining engagement and building strong relationships remotely.
- Cultural awareness and adaptability, with the confidence to work across different organisations, leadership styles and international environments.
- The ability to think on your feet, navigate ambiguity and exercise sound professional and commercial judgement.
- A highly organised and self-motivated approach, with the discipline and time management skills required to work effectively within a fully remote environment.
The following experience would be particularly advantageous:
- Experience designing and delivering Women's leadership development programmes, together with a strong understanding of the barriers women can face in progressing into senior leadership.
- Certification in recognised psychometric and leadership assessment tools, including personality assessments and 360-degree feedback, alongside substantial experience delivering assessment feedback in sensitive or high-stakes situations (ideally 50-100 or more feedback sessions).
- Experience supporting organisations through large-scale AI adoption or transformation, with an understanding of the implications for leadership capability, organisational culture and the future of work.
- Familiarity with emerging approaches to learning and development, including AI-enabled tools and blended learning solutions.
