Learning & Development Manager

Bright Selection are pleased to be working with a well-established home care provider to recruit a Learning and Development Manager.
This is a varied role with responsibility for shaping and delivering the organisation’s learning and development strategy. You will work closely with managers and senior leaders to ensure employees have the knowledge, skills and support needed to provide high-quality care, meet regulatory requirements and progress within the organisation.
The role combines strategic planning with hands-on training delivery and would suit someone who enjoys developing people, improving performance and creating clear career pathways.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and deliver the annual learning and development strategy.
- Identify skills gaps and future training requirements.
- Design and deliver induction, refresher, mandatory and professional development programmes.
- Deliver classroom, virtual, e-learning and workplace-based training.
- Support employees throughout their onboarding and probationary periods.
- Work with managers to create individual development plans and succession pathways.
- Support leadership development, coaching and performance improvement.
- Manage the organisation’s learning management system.
- Maintain accurate training, competency and compliance records.
- Monitor mandatory training completion and produce regular reports.
- Ensure training meets regulatory, safeguarding, health and safety, equality and data protection requirements.
- Coordinate external training providers and identify relevant funding opportunities.
- Review training effectiveness through feedback, assessments and performance data.
- Manage the learning and development budget and explore new digital and AI-supported learning solutions.
About you
- A recognised training, teaching, assessor or learning and development qualification at Level 3 or above.
- A strong background in designing, delivering and evaluating learning programmes.
- Knowledge of learning management systems and training compliance.
- An understanding of inclusive and differentiated learning.
- Confident communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong planning, organisation and project management abilities.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office and digital learning platforms.
- Willingness to travel between locations when required.
A background within health and social care, healthcare or another regulated environment would be beneficial, along with knowledge of coaching, mentoring, budget management or working with external training providers.
