Learning Support Assistant - Ashford, Kent

Academics are looking for a friendly, enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Ashford.

This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a supportive school environment where you will play an important role in helping children feel confident, included and supported throughout their school day. The school has a high level of SEN needs, so this role would suit someone who is passionate about making a positive difference to children who may require additional support.

Previous experience within a school or working with children is desirable but not essential. We are happy to hear from applicants from a wide range of backgrounds who are caring, patient, dependable and keen to develop their experience working with children.

• Supporting children with their learning, development and day-to-day needs
• Providing additional one-to-one or small-group support where required
• Helping pupils with SEN to engage positively with their learning
• Working closely with teachers and wider school staff
• Encouraging children to develop their confidence, independence and social skills
• Creating a positive and inclusive environment where every child feels supported

• A warm, patient and approachable personality
• A genuine interest in supporting children and helping them succeed
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Someone reliable and committed to working Monday to Friday
• Previous experience working with children is preferred but not essential
• Any previous SEN experience would be beneficial
• Enhanced DBS held or willingness to obtain one
