Beckfoot Thornton in Bradford works in partnership with The Supply Register, who manage all cover requirements for the school. We are now recruiting Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) to support pupils across a range of day‑to‑day, short‑term, and long‑term assignments.

These roles are ideal for individuals who are passionate about supporting young people, confident in the classroom, and able to work collaboratively with teaching, SEN and pastoral teams.

About the Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will support pupils across KS3 and KS4 in a variety of ways, including:

  • Classroom‑based learning support

  • 1:1 pupil support

  • Small‑group intervention work

  • Behaviour and engagement support

  • Helping pupils access learning and stay on task

  • Assisting teachers with lesson preparation and classroom routines

All roles are offered on a supply basis through The Supply Register.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support pupils’ learning, progress and wellbeing

  • Build positive relationships with students and staff

  • Assist with behaviour regulation and engagement strategies

  • Help deliver small‑group or 1:1 interventions

  • Maintain a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff and pastoral teams

Requirements
  • Experience working with children or young people (school, youth work, coaching, mentoring, etc.)

  • Strong communication and relationship‑building skills

  • A patient, supportive and proactive approach

  • Ability to follow guidance and adapt to pupil needs

  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
