Legal Secretary - Chester City Centre - Permanent - Full Time

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Legal Secretary to join a leading UK law firm, supporting a busy and highly regarded team working with high-net-worth and private clients.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Legal Secretary who is looking to work within a prestigious firm and a professional, client-focused environment.

You do not need experience in a specific area of law. We are primarily looking for someone with solid legal secretarial experience, excellent audio typing skills and a professional approach.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to fee earners and the wider legal team.
  • Producing accurate and professional correspondence, reports and legal documentation.
  • Undertaking audio typing to a high standard, with excellent speed and accuracy.
  • Managing emails, correspondence and telephone enquiries professionally and efficiently.
  • Diary management, arranging meetings and coordinating appointments.
  • Opening, maintaining and closing client files in accordance with firm procedures.
  • Preparing documents and assisting with the organisation of meetings and client appointments.
  • Liaising professionally with clients, colleagues and external contacts.
  • Maintaining accurate records and ensuring deadlines are monitored and met.
  • Carrying out general administrative duties to support the smooth running of the team.
  • Handling sensitive and confidential information with the utmost discretion.

About You

The successful candidate will have:

  • Previous legal secretarial experience – experience within any area of law will be considered.
  • Excellent audio typing skills, with a high level of accuracy.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to produce consistently accurate work.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise a busy workload.
  • A professional, polished and confident manner when dealing with clients.
  • The ability to work with confidential and sensitive information discreetly.
  • Good IT skills and confidence using Microsoft Office and legal case management systems.
  • The ability to work independently while also being a supportive member of a team.
  • A flexible and proactive approach, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
