Location: Manchester area, with travel to client sites across the UK

The opportunity

Managementors is looking for an experienced, hands-on Delivery Manager to lead small consulting teams and deliver measurable improvements for our clients.

This appointment supports an immediate client requirement in and around Manchester, although the successful person will work with organisations across the UK as future assignments develop.

You will typically lead a delivery team of two to three consultants, taking responsibility for the day-to-day success of client engagements. This is not a purely supervisory or advisory position. You will work directly with client teams, analyse operational performance, identify the underlying causes of inefficiency and help implement practical improvements.

The role offers significant responsibility, client exposure and long-term career progression within a growing management consultancy.

What you’ll be doing

  • Leading small consulting teams of two to three people on client engagements

  • Taking ownership of project delivery, outcomes, quality and client satisfaction

  • Working onsite with client teams to understand how their operations perform in practice

  • Analysing processes, performance information, organisational structures and ways of working

  • Identifying the root causes of operational inefficiency and underperformance

  • Developing practical, evidence-led recommendations and implementation plans

  • Working alongside clients to implement improvements—not simply presenting recommendations

  • Helping clients improve productivity, capacity, service quality, management effectiveness and operational control

  • Establishing clear measures, governance and reporting to track progress and benefits

  • Coaching managers and frontline teams to embed new behaviours and ways of working

  • Managing stakeholders at operational, functional and senior leadership levels

  • Identifying delivery risks and resolving issues before they affect agreed outcomes

  • Supporting and developing consultants within the project team

  • Contributing to proposals, client development and the continued growth of Managementors

  • Ensuring improvements remain effective and sustainable after the engagement concludes

What we’re looking for

You will be an experienced management consultant or consulting delivery professional who is comfortable moving between analysis, team leadership and hands-on implementation.

You should be confident entering an unfamiliar organisation, quickly understanding how it operates and building credibility with people at every level.

Essential experience

  • Strong management consulting experience, ideally within operational transformation, organisational efficiency or performance improvement

  • A successful record of delivering measurable improvements within client organisations

  • Experience leading small consulting, transformation or improvement teams

  • Hands-on project or programme delivery experience

  • The ability to analyse complex operational problems and translate findings into practical action

  • Experience implementing change and embedding improvements within day-to-day operations

  • Strong stakeholder management and client relationship skills

  • Confidence working with operational teams, managers and senior leaders

  • The ability to coach, challenge and influence people constructively

  • Strong numerical, analytical, presentation and written communication skills

  • Willingness and ability to work regularly from client sites

  • Flexibility to travel and work on assignments throughout the UK
