Job Title: Materials Expeditor (6-Month Fixed-Term Contract)

Hours: Monday - Thursday 7am - 4.00pm - Friday 7am - 11am

Salary: Competitive salary of £38,000 per annum (pro rata)

Contract: 6-Month Fixed-Term Contract


Overview


An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Materials Expeditor to join a busy Supply Chain team on a 6-month fixed-term contract. This role is responsible for ensuring the timely supply of materials and components to support production schedules and customer demand within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Expedite materials and components to ensure production requirements are met.
  • Monitor supplier deliveries and proactively chase outstanding purchase orders.
  • Liaise with suppliers regarding delivery schedules, shortages and potential supply risks.
  • Maintain accurate purchase order information within the ERP/MRP system.
  • Work closely with Purchasing, Planning and Production teams to ensure material availability.
  • Provide regular updates on delivery status and resolve supply issues promptly.
  • Support inventory management and minimise material shortages and disruptions.
  • Monitor supplier performance and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in a Materials Expeditor, Purchasing, Supply Chain or Materials Planning role.
  • Experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment is desirable.
  • Good understanding of procurement and supply chain processes.
  • Experience using ERP/MRP systems.
  • Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to prioritise workload and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
