The Role

As one of our Mechanical Assemblers, you'll play a vital role in the assembly, overhaul and refurbishment of critical rail components.

Duties will include:

• Assembly and overhaul of mechanical rolling stock components
• Repair and refurbishment of braking systems and bogie components
• Stripping, inspecting and rebuilding a wide range of brake system products
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications
• Using hand tools, power tools and workshop equipment safely and effectively
• Following established engineering procedures and quality standards
• Completing accurate maintenance and build records

About You

We're looking for motivated Mechanical Assemblers who take pride in delivering high quality workmanship and can thrive in a fast paced engineering environment.

You may come from a rail, heavy engineering, automotive, aerospace, manufacturing or similar mechanical background.

Essential

• Ability to read and interpret mechanical engineering drawings
• Strong mechanical assembly, fitting or overhaul experience
• Excellent attention to detail
• Experience using hand tools and workshop equipment
• Ability to work independently and within a team
• Understanding of safe working practices in a safety critical environment
• Ability to complete accurate documentation and records

Desirable

• NVQ Level 2 in a Mechanical discipline or equivalent experience
• Previous rolling stock, heavy engineering, manufacturing or automotive experience
