We are recruiting for a skilled and experienced MOT Tester to join our client's expanding automotive repair business in East Cardiff. Our client, operating across three sites in Wales, is looking for an MOT Tester to work at their East Cardiff location. As part of the workshop team, you will ensure that all MOT testing is carried out to government standards and contribute to maintaining the safety of road users. You will also support the workshop with diagnosing, vehicle servicing, and repairs where applicable, providing exceptional customer service throughout the process.

The successful MOT Tester will have an active Class 4, 5, and 7 MOT testing licence, along with a UK driving licence with minimal points. Qualifications such as IMI or NVQ Level 2/3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair are preferred; however, experienced vehicle mechanics with a valid MOT licence will also be considered. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment are essential.

Duties:
  • Conduct MOT tests in accordance with government standards
  • Diagnose and carry out associated service and repair work as required
  • Support the workshop through technical and customer-related activities
  • Maintain accurate documentation and communicate effectively with customers
  • Support workshop operations to ensure efficient workflow
  • Support and promote customer relationships through clear communication
  • Ensure high standards of vehicle safety and compliance at all times
Requirements:
  • Active Class 4, 5, and 7 MOT testing licence
  • UK driving licence with minimal points
  • Relevant qualifications (IMI/NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent) preferred but not essential for experienced mechanics with MOT licence
  • Proven experience in vehicle maintenance, servicing, or repairs
  • Strong team player with excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently within a busy workshop environment
