Colchester – £38,000–£42,000 + Benefits
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am–6pm (doors shut 5:30) – NO WEEKENDS

We’re looking for an experienced MOT Tester / Vehicle Technician to join a busy, modern workshop in Colchester. This is a long‑term, stable role ideal for a MOT Tester / Vehicle Technician who values a supportive team, strong progression, and a workplace that genuinely invests in its people.

The Role – MOT Tester / Vehicle Technician
As an MOT Tester / Vehicle Technician, you’ll spend around 80% of your time MOT testing, with occasional light servicing when the workshop is quiet. 
Key responsibilities include:
  • Carrying out Class 4 MOT tests to DVSA standards
  • Light servicing (brake pads, basic maintenance) when required
  • Diagnosing and repairing vehicle faults
  • Performing routine maintenance
  • Using diagnostic tools and software
  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation
  • Communicating professionally with customers
  • Keeping your work area clean and organised

What You’ll Need
  • NVQ Level 3 (Level 2 + experience considered)
  • Valid MOT licence
  • Strong MOT testing experience
  • Ability to use diagnostic tools and software
  • Full UK driving licence
  • A positive, team‑focused attitude — no egos, no old‑school tester mentality
