One to one Teaching Assistant in Warrington, Cheshire

We are seeking a patient, resilient and caring Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated 1:1 support for a Year 2 pupil with SEND and behavioural needs in a welcoming primary school.

This is a rewarding opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant who has a passion for supporting children with additional needs and helping them succeed both academically and emotionally. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the pupil's learning, behaviour and social development throughout the school day.

The Role

As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Provide individual support to a Year 2 pupil with SEND and behavioural challenges.
• Build a positive and trusting relationship to support engagement and learning.
• Implement behaviour support strategies and follow individual support plans.
• Assist the class teacher in adapting learning activities to meet the pupil's needs.
• Support the pupil's emotional regulation and social development.
• Encourage confidence, independence and positive classroom participation.
• Work closely with teachers, SENDCo, parents and external professionals.
• Maintain accurate records of progress and behaviour where required.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

• Has previous experience supporting children with SEND in a school setting.
• Has experience managing challenging behaviour and promoting positive outcomes.
• Is calm, patient and resilient when faced with difficult situations.
• Can build strong relationships with pupils, staff and families.
• Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Holds a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential).
• Has an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or is willing to obtain one.
