A well-established organisation on the outskirts of Bath is seeking a Payroll Manager to take ownership of payroll during an exciting period of transformation. This is a rare opportunity to lead the transition from an outsourced payroll model to a fully in-house function while supporting the implementation of a new HR and payroll system.

Working closely with HR, Finance and external consultants, you will become the organisation's payroll expert, helping to shape processes, oversee testing and ensure a successful payroll transition. Once transitioned the postholder will the be responsible for the ongoing processing of the payroll.

With a commitment of just 12 hours per week and hybrid working available, this role could be ideal for an experienced payroll professional looking to reduce their hours, someone seeking an additional part-time opportunity, or an individual looking for a flexible position that still offers strategic responsibility and project involvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end monthly payroll process for over 550 employees.
  • Lead payroll implementation and transition projects.
  • Ensure payroll compliance with HMRC and statutory requirements.
  • Manage pension administration and auto-enrolment activities.
  • Complete payroll reconciliations and reporting.
  • Produce payroll reports, forecasts and audit information.
  • Act as the key contact for payroll and pension queries.
  • Drive continuous improvements to payroll processes and systems.

About You
