Planner - Supply Chain at Marshall Land Systems, Merthyr Tydfil

We have two exciting opportunities join Marshall Land Systems as a Supply Chain Planner, responsible for coordinating supply chain activities at a designated production site, ensuring the effective flow of materials, components, and services to support manufacturing operations. Reporting to the Senior Supply Chain Manager, the role supports alignment between site operations and the wider supply chain strategy.

Working as part of the site supply chain function, the role supports performance in line with Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, and People (SQCDP) objectives, helping to ensure material availability, supplier performance, and inventory management support the successful delivery of production programmes.

Your responsibilities will include;

• Coordinate day-to-day site supply chain activities, including materials planning, procurement coordination, and inventory management
• Monitor material availability against production schedules and build plans
• Act as a key point of contact between the site and central Supply Chain function
• Work with Production, Planning, and Engineering teams to align supply chain priorities with operational needs
• Monitor supplier performance at site level, including delivery, quality, and responsiveness
• Support expediting activities to resolve material shortages and minimise supply risks
• Monitor inventory levels to balance material availability with cost and working capital targets
• Support goods receipt, storage, and material flow processes to ensure efficient site operations
• Identify and escalate supply chain risks, supporting contingency and recovery actions
• Support regular reviews of supply chain performance, including KPIs and delivery metrics
• Ensure compliance with company procurement processes, policies, and governance
• Support new product introduction (NPI) and programme changes, helping to ensure supply chain readiness
• Work with central procurement on supplier selection, onboarding, and performance improvement
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across supply chain processes at site level
• Provide clear communication and escalation of supply issues impacting production or delivery

• Experience in a supply chain, materials planning, or procurement role within a manufacturing or production environment
• Experience working in a site-based or operational supply chain environment
• Ability to manage material availability and support the resolution of supply issues in a fast-paced environment
• Experience working cross-functionally with Production, Planning, and Engineering teams
• Exposure to supplier management and performance monitoring

Technical Skills / Education

• Good understanding of supply chain, materials planning, and inventory management principles
• Experience using ERP/MRP systems for planning and material control
• Good organisational and problem-solving skills
• Effective communication and stakeholder management capability
• CIPS qualification or working towards, desirable
• Knowledge of manufacturing, assembly, or engineering environments, desirable
