Dutton Recruitment (Sheffield Engineering) are recruiting for:

We are looking for a Plater for a long-term contract with our client in Billington

Immediate start available (subject to interview process)

Rate of pay is £18.00 to £19.00 per hour (depending on experience)

This does have the potential to go permanent for the right candidate

Key Responsibilities

• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and fabrication specifications.
• Marking out, cutting, shaping and preparing steel components for fabrication.
• Carrying out platework and structural fabrication activities.
• Using hand tools, power tools and workshop equipment safely and effectively.
• Preparing materials prior to welding and assembly.
• Working to tight tolerances and maintaining high-quality standards.
• Carrying out self-inspection of completed work.
• Ensuring all work is completed in line with company procedures and health & safety requirements.
• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment.

Candidate Requirements

• Previous experience working as a Plater within an engineering or fabrication environment.
• Ability to read and work from engineering drawings.
• Experience with marking out, cutting and preparing steel plate.
• Strong understanding of fabrication processes.
• Ability to use workshop tools and equipment confidently.
• Good attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Positive attitude with good reliability and timekeeping.

Experience within heavy engineering, structural fabrication, machinery manufacture or similar industries would be advantageous.
