About us

Vantage Plumbing & Heating is an established, growing company based in Stevenage. We install boilers, luxury bathrooms and air conditioning for homeowners across Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and North London. Much of our work is in high-end homes, and our customers expect a first-class finish and a first-class experience.

The role

We are looking for an experienced plumbing and heating engineer to join our team. You will work across heating, hot water and bathroom installations, often in premium properties. Gas Safe registration is not required.

What you'll be doing

  • Working on central heating systems, including fault finding
  • Installing and maintaining hot water cylinders, vented and unvented
  • First and second fix on luxury bathroom installations
  • Fitting taps, toilets, basins, showers and general plumbing
  • Stud work (a bonus, not essential)

What we're looking for

  • Proven experience as a plumbing and heating engineer
  • Confident working on your own and getting the job right first time
  • Well presented, friendly and professional, comfortable working in customers' homes
  • Takes pride in a clean, high-quality finish
  • Own tools
  • Full UK driving licence with no more than 6 points
  • Aged 25 or over (insurance requirement for our vans)
  • Lives locally, Hertfordshire preferred
  • G3 unvented qualification preferred

Hours

  • Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm, plus a share of the on call rota.

What we offer

  • Subcontract: £200 to £240 per day, depending on experience
  • PAYE: £34,000 to £40,000 per year, depending on experience, plus paid holiday and pension
  • On call: £65 per hour when called out, paid for every hour worked
