Overview

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Post Process Technician to join a growing manufacturing team based in Worcester. This position is ideal for candidates with previous experience working in a casting house, foundry, manufacturing, engineering, or fabrication environment, particularly those with strong skills in casting dressing, fettling, blasting, grinding, and finishing operations.

The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out a variety of post-processing and finishing activities to ensure components meet customer specifications and quality standards. This role requires someone who can hit the ground running and confidently use a range of pneumatic hand tools.



Key Responsibilities

  • Perform post-processing and finishing operations on manufactured components.
  • Carry out casting dressing, fettling, deburring, grinding, sanding, polishing, and blasting activities.
  • Remove excess material, burrs, surface imperfections, and support structures using pneumatic hand tools.
  • Operate grinders, die grinders, burr tools, sanding discs, and other finishing equipment safely and effectively.
  • Inspect components against engineering drawings, customer specifications, and quality standards.
  • Identify and report quality issues, defects, or non-conformances.
  • Use measuring and inspection tools where required to verify component accuracy.
  • Follow established work instructions, SOPs, and process documentation.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organised work area in line with 5S principles.
  • Work collaboratively with production, engineering, and quality teams to achieve production targets.
  • Adhere to all Health & Safety requirements and PPE procedures.


Essential Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in a casting house, foundry, manufacturing, fabrication, machining, or engineering environment.
  • Proven experience in casting dressing, fettling, deburring, grinding, blasting, and finishing operations.
  • Extensive experience using pneumatic hand tools, including:
    • Grinders
    • Die grinders
    • Burr tools
    • Sanding discs
    • Sanders
  • Ability to work accurately while maintaining component quality and dimensional integrity.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Good problem-solving ability and practical mindset.
  • Understanding of workplace Health & Safety requirements.


Desirable Experience

  • Previous experience working with castings or precision-engineered components.
  • Experience within aerospace, automotive, defence, industrial manufacturing, or foundry environments.
  • Familiarity with quality inspection processes and engineering drawings.
  • Experience operating blasting equipment.
