Prospero Teaching is currently looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 5 Tutor to support pupils within a welcoming primary school in the Christchurch (BH23) area.

This is an excellent opportunity for a tutor, qualified teacher, or experienced education professional who is passionate about helping children achieve their full potential. Working mornings only, you will provide targeted support in English and Maths, helping Year 5 pupils build confidence, close learning gaps, and prepare for the next stage of their education.



CONTRACT/POSITION DETAILS

  • Location: Christchurch, Dorset (BH23)
  • Position: Year 5 Tutor
  • Subject: English and Maths
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Duration: Ongoing
  • Hours: Mornings only (part-time)
  • Minimum Rate of Pay: £25-£30 per hour


THE ROLE

As a Year 5 Tutor, you will:

  • Deliver engaging one-to-one and small-group tuition.
  • Support pupils in English and Mathematics in line with the Year 5 National Curriculum.
  • Adapt learning to meet individual pupil needs.
  • Monitor progress and complete session feedback.
  • Help pupils develop confidence, resilience, and a positive attitude towards learning.
  • Work closely with school staff to ensure the best outcomes for pupils.


EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

Desirable, but not essential:

  • QTS, PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience working with Key Stage 2 pupils, particularly Year 5.
  • Previous experience in a UK primary school.
  • Up-to-date Safeguarding training issued within the last year.


TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

  • Hold the Right to Work in the UK.
  • Hold an enhanced Child Barred List DBS certificate registered with the Update Service, or be willing to apply for one.
  • Provide two professional references related to working with children.
  • Have at least one year's experience working within an educational setting.
