Academic Appointments is seeking committed and adaptable Primary Teachers to work across mainstream primary schools throughout North Yorkshire. From day-to-day cover to longer-term placements, you'll have the opportunity to build valuable experience, support pupils' learning, and become part of welcoming school communities.
About the Role:
You'll work closely with school leaders and support staff to deliver high-quality teaching across EYFS, Key Stage 1, and Key Stage 2. We offer a variety of opportunities, from day-to-day supply to longer-term assignments, giving you the flexibility to find work that suits you.
Your Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging lessons that follow the National Curriculum.
- Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.
- Adapt learning to meet the needs of all pupils.
- Assess, monitor, and record pupil progress where required.
- Manage classroom behaviour effectively, encouraging a positive attitude to learning.
- Build strong relationships with pupils, colleagues, parents, and carers.
- Support pupils' academic, social, and emotional development.
- Work collaboratively with school staff to contribute to positive outcomes for pupils.
- Complete any required school documentation accurately.
- Follow all safeguarding, health and safety, and school policies.
What You'll Bring:
We're looking for teachers who can step confidently into the classroom and make a positive impact from day one. You'll ideally have:
- UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Experience teaching within a primary school environment.
- A strong knowledge of the National Curriculum and effective classroom practice.
- The ability to engage, motivate, and inspire learners of all abilities.
- Excellent classroom management and organisational skills.
- A collaborative approach and the ability to build positive relationships quickly.
- Flexibility, reliability, and a professional attitude.
- A genuine passion for helping children achieve their full potential.
- Recent teaching references.
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
- A sound understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
