Primary Teacher in Telford, Telford and Wrekin

We are recruiting for a dedicated and experienced Primary Teacher to join a welcoming primary school in Telford from January 2027.

This is an exciting opportunity to take responsibility for a Year 2 class on a maternity cover basis, initially running from January until July 2027, with the potential for the role to continue beyond this date.

The Role

  • Planning and delivering engaging lessons across the Year 2 curriculum
  • Completing marking and assessment
  • Monitoring and supporting pupil progress
  • Creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment
  • Working closely with the school's experienced Teaching Assistant
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues and the wider school team
  • Maintaining high standards of behaviour and learning

The school is very welcoming and supportive, and there will be a handover period with the current class teacher to ensure a smooth transition before the maternity leave begins.

You will also have the support of an experienced Teaching Assistant who already works within the class.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Has experience teaching within a primary school
  • Is confident teaching a Year 2 class
  • Can take full class responsibility
  • Has strong knowledge of the primary curriculum
  • Is confident with planning, marking and assessment
  • Builds positive relationships with pupils and staff
  • Is organised, reliable and enthusiastic
  • Is committed to providing a high standard of education and support to pupils

Interviews will take place at the school after the October half term.
