Procurement Manager in Central London

Conrad Consulting is working with a leading consultancy to recruit an experienced Procurement Manager to support a major defence programme.

This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive procurement professional with experience in pre-contract procurement, supplier engagement and tender management.

You will join an established team, providing additional procurement support and helping to manage the procurement process from initial supplier engagement through to contract award.

Defence sector experience would be particularly advantageous.

• Support pre-contract procurement activities across a major defence programme.
• Engage with suppliers and manage supplier relationships.
• Develop and manage tender lists and procurement strategies.
• Prepare tender documentation and contract packages.
• Coordinate tender processes and manage supplier responses.
• Evaluate tender submissions and support commercial assessments.
• Assist with contract preparation and negotiations.
• Work collaboratively with commercial, project and procurement colleagues.
• Ensure procurement activities are completed in line with programme requirements.

• Proven experience in a Procurement Manager or Senior Procurement position.
• Strong experience in pre-contract procurement.
• Experience managing supplier engagement and tender processes.
• Good understanding of contract preparation and procurement documentation.
• Defence sector experience would be advantageous.
• Excellent organisational, communication and negotiation skills.
• Proactive approach with the ability to work independently.
• BPSS clearance is required.

• Salary of £75,000–£90,000.
• London-based position.
• Monthly or occasional travel to the Reading area.
• Opportunity to work on a significant defence programme.
