Location: Stockport
Salary: £50,000–£55,000 per annum, dependent on experience
Hours: Monday–Thursday, 7:30am–4:30pm; Friday, 7:30am–3:00pm
Weekly hours: 38.5
Contract: Permanent, full-time
Reporting to: Chief Operating Officer
The Opportunity
An established and growing design-led manufacturing business is looking to appoint an experienced Procurement & Supply Chain Manager.
This is a broad, hands-on position covering purchasing, supplier performance, inventory, imports, inbound logistics and stock managed through a third-party logistics provider.
Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, you will help improve product availability, purchasing costs, stock accuracy and customer delivery.
Key Responsibilities

Manage purchasing across standard, bespoke and project-specific products.

Review demand, reorder levels and stock availability.

Manage inventory held through a third-party logistics provider.

Process purchase orders and maintain accurate purchasing records.

Source new products and identify suitable suppliers.

Obtain and negotiate competitive product prices, freight costs and lead times.

Monitor supplier pricing, service levels and OTIF performance.

Coordinate imports, inbound shipments, freight providers and delivery tracking.

Manage backorders and communicate product availability across the business.

Maintain accurate product, supplier, pricing and inventory information.

Produce weekly procurement, stock and supply-chain KPI reports.

Work closely with operations, project delivery and solution design teams.

Support product, supplier and supply-chain compliance requirements.

Identify cost savings, resolve supply issues and drive continuous improvement.
Skills and Experience
-
At least three years’ experience within procurement, purchasing or supply chain.

Experience managing suppliers, purchase orders and stock levels.

Previous exposure to imports, inbound freight or international suppliers.

Strong commercial negotiation and supplier-management skills.

Confident analysing inventory, pricing, lead-time and supplier-performance data.

Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft 365, particularly Excel.

Sage 50 experience would be advantageous.

Highly organised and able to manage competing priorities and deadlines.

Proactive, collaborative and willing to take ownership of problems; experience within manufacturing, distribution or another product-led business would be beneficial.
