Production Operative in Crewe, Cheshire

Job Title: Production Operative
Summary: Hands-on production role manufacturing paste and powder products to set formulations for customer orders and stock, where accuracy and attention to detail are essential.

Hours: Mon-Fri 8am-4.30pm (24 hours initially increasing to 40 hours)

Pay: £13-13.75 per hour

Location: Crewe

• Accurately weigh and measure ingredients to specified formulations/tolerances

• Prepare, mix and blend powder mixes and paste formulations in line with work instructions

• Follow batch records, production schedules and SOPs to ensure consistent output

• Monitor quality during production and report any deviations or issues promptly

• Complete production paperwork accurately (e.g., batch sheets, checks, traceability records)

• Maintain a clean, organised work area to required hygiene and Health & Safety standards

• Handle materials safely and use equipment correctly, reporting defects/faults

• Work independently to meet daily targets and deadlines while maintaining accuracy

• Support continuous improvement by suggesting better ways of working where appropriate

Essential

• Previous experience in a production/manufacturing environment (mixing preferred)

• Confident weighing ingredients and following recipes, formulas, or batch instructions

• Strong attention to detail and a quality-focused approach

• Reliable with excellent timekeeping and attendance

• Able to work independently and take ownership of workload

• Organised, proactive, and comfortable with repetitive tasks

Desirable

• Health & Safety training/qualification

• Experience in food, pharmaceutical, chemical, feed, supplement, or similar manufacturing
