Jackson Hogg are supporting a leading North East manufacturer in the recruitment of a Production Planner to join their growing operations team based in Sedgefield.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly technical manufacturing environment where you will play a key role in ensuring customer demand, production capacity and material availability are aligned to support operational performance and delivery targets.
The Role
As Production Planner, you will be responsible for creating, maintaining and coordinating production plans that support efficient manufacturing operations across multiple product lines.
Working closely with Production, Engineering, Supply Chain and Project teams, you will balance customer demand, material availability and manufacturing capacity whilst ensuring plans remain realistic, visible and achievable.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain production plans and schedules
- Convert customer orders and demand forecasts into achievable manufacturing plans
- Monitor material availability and production capacity
- Maintain ERP/MRP planning data and ensure system accuracy
- Support daily and weekly planning reviews
- Identify and escalate risks that may impact customer delivery
- Work closely with Production, Engineering and Supply Chain teams
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across planning and operations
- Drive improvements in schedule adherence, production flow and operational visibility
About You
We're keen to speak with candidates who have experience in:
- Production Planning
- Manufacturing Planning
- Production Control
- Master Scheduling
- Materials Planning
You will also have:
- Experience using ERP/MRP systems
- Strong Excel skills
- Knowledge of capacity planning and production scheduling
- Understanding of material availability and WIP management
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience within manufacturing, engineering or technical production environments
Exposure to electronics, aerospace, defence, semiconductor, precision engineering or advanced manufacturing environments would be highly advantageous.
