Production Supervisor – Food Manufacturing

Manchester Area | c.£37,500 (paid at £17.86 per hour) | Monday-Friday | 6:00am-2:30pm

If you're an experienced Production Supervisor looking for a business where your leadership genuinely makes an impact, this is an opportunity to join a growing food manufacturer investing in both its people and its operation.

Following a period of positive change, the business has secured new customers, strengthened its leadership team, and is continuing to invest in its manufacturing capability. As a result, they're looking for a confident Production Supervisor who can lead from the front, develop high-performing teams, and drive operational excellence.

This is a highly visible role where you'll have the autonomy to influence performance, improve standards, and play a key part in the site's continued growth.

The Role

You'll be responsible for leading a team of around 20-30 colleagues, ensuring production targets are achieved safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading, coaching and developing a high-performing production team
  • Driving KPIs including OEE, labour efficiency, waste reduction, plan attainment and line performance
  • Ensuring compliance with food safety, HACCP, GMP and quality standards
  • Supporting customer audits, product launches and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Identifying opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency and operational performance
  • Managing performance, attendance and employee development while creating a positive team culture

About You

We're looking for someone who enjoys leading people, thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, and takes pride in delivering high standards.

You'll ideally have:

  • Previous supervisory experience within food manufacturing
  • Experience managing sizeable production teams in a high-volume environment
  • Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMP and food safety requirements
  • A track record of improving performance and driving operational KPIs
  • Excellent communication, organisation and people management skills
  • A proactive, hands-on approach with a continuous improvement mindset

Desirable qualifications include Level 3 Food Safety, HACCP certification, IOSH or an NVQ in Food Manufacturing, although these aren't essential.
