The Role
As Project Lead Engineer, you will support the design, assessment, and refurbishment of onshore and marine structures at HMNB Clyde, ensuring compliance with modern standards and regulations. Your responsibilities include leading multi-disciplinary work packages, providing technical guidance, managing contractors, and overseeing detailed design and construction activities. You will collaborate closely with stakeholders, review technical documentation, and support project optioneering processes. You will also provide technical oversight during commissioning and decommissioning phases, ensuring projects meet all safety and environmental standards.
You will have the following qualifications & experience:
- Proven degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or related discipline.
- Extensive knowledge of civil/structural engineering, industrial steel, and reinforced concrete structures.
- Expert understanding of UK codes and standards, including Eurocodes and British Standards.
- Experience working within UK nuclear or defence industries, with familiarity with safety-related structures and systems.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex work packages within highly regulated environments, including site implementation and stakeholder engagement.
