Project Manager - Water

A leading civil engineering and infrastructure contractor is seeking an experienced Project Manager, or an ambitious Site Manager looking to take the next step in their career, to join a growing specialist delivery team working across water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of multiple projects from concept through to completion, working within a well-established business delivering essential infrastructure improvements across the region.
The Role
As Project Manager, you will be responsible for the safe, successful and commercially efficient delivery of multiple civil engineering schemes. You will coordinate operational teams, subcontractors, designers and clients, ensuring projects are delivered on programme, within budget and to the highest standards of quality and safety.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing multiple water and wastewater infrastructure projects from inception through to handover.
- Leading project planning, programming and delivery activities.
- Producing and reviewing project documentation including RAMS, CPPs and other construction management plans.
- Managing project costs, forecasting and reporting performance.
- Coordinating site teams, subcontractors and suppliers.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders.
- Identifying project risks and implementing effective mitigation strategies.
- Ensuring compliance with CDM regulations, company procedures and health & safety legislation.
- Providing regular progress, programme and commercial updates to senior management.
About You
We are interested in speaking with experienced Project Managers as well as Site Managers ready to progress into a project management role.
You will ideally have:
- Experience delivering civil engineering, utilities or infrastructure projects.
- Water and/or wastewater project experience.
- Strong commercial awareness and cost control experience.
- Experience managing subcontractors and multidisciplinary delivery teams.
- Excellent client-facing and stakeholder management skills.
- A thorough understanding of construction health & safety and CDM regulations.
- Strong planning, organisational and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience working in live operational environments and around critical infrastructure assets.
- Good working knowledge of project reporting systems and Excel-based cost trackers.
Qualifications
Essential:
SMSTS
CSCS Card
Full UK Driving Licence
Temporary Works Coordinator (TWC)
Desirable:
Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or similar discipline.
APM, CIOB, ICE or equivalent professional membership.
A61 Appointed Person.
NRSWA Supervisor.
Microsoft Project experience.
