Psychology Graduate

Graduated in Psychology and wondering what comes next?

You've spent years studying behaviour, development and mental health. Now is the perfect opportunity to put that knowledge into practice and make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people.

We're currently partnering with specialist schools and alternative provision settings across Wakefield to recruit enthusiastic and compassionate Psychology graduates looking to gain hands-on experience within education and support services.

£100 - £118 per day
Leeds

What does the role involve?

This is where your understanding of psychology moves beyond lectures and into real-world situations.

You'll be supporting children and young people who require additional guidance and encouragement to achieve their potential in education. No two days are ever the same, making this a rewarding and varied role.

Your responsibilities may include:

• Building positive and meaningful relationships with pupils through patience, consistency and trust
• Supporting children with SEMH, SEND and additional learning needs
• Encouraging emotional wellbeing, confidence and engagement within the classroom
• Working closely with experienced education professionals to provide a safe and supportive learning environment

Sometimes the smallest acts of support can have the greatest impact. A kind word, a listening ear, or simply being someone pupils can rely on.

Why is this a great opportunity for Psychology graduates?

Whether you're considering a future in Educational Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Mental Health Services, Social Work or Teaching, this role provides valuable experience that can help strengthen your career pathway.

Benefits include:

• Practical experience working directly with children and young people
• Exposure to specialist education settings and alternative provisions
• Potential opportunities to move into long-term or permanent positions
• Ongoing guidance and support from a consultant who understands your career aspirations

What we're looking for

✔️ A Psychology degree (or be due to graduate shortly)
✔️ A patient, resilient and empathetic approach
✔️ A genuine interest in understanding behaviour and supporting young people
✔️ A willingness to learn, develop and make a positive impact

No school-based experience?

That's absolutely okay.

We're interested in finding people with the right attitude, enthusiasm and passion for helping young people succeed. We'll support you with the rest.
