Quantity Surveyor

Role Overview

We are looking for a commercially minded Quantity Surveyor with two to five years’ experience to support the delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure projects.

Working alongside Project Managers, Design Engineers and the commercial team, you will help manage water projects from inception to completion, control commercial risk and maximise profitability.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and track applications for payment, invoices and certificates.

• Raise Early Warning Notices and manage compensation events, variations and change requests.

• Prepare project estimates, budgets and cost forecasts.

• Produce monthly Cost Value Reconciliations.

• Monitor project costs, purchase orders and commercial performance.

• Review contracts and support subcontractor management.

• Monitor commercial progress against water project programmes.

• Maintain strong relationships with water industry clients and subcontractors.

• Identify commercial risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications and Experience

• At least two years’ Quantity Surveying experience within the water industry.

• Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.

• Experience supporting water, wastewater or utilities projects.

• Good knowledge of NEC3 or NEC4 contracts.

• Understanding of project cost management, payment applications and change control.

• Strong numerical, analytical, communication and organisational skills.

• Experience with water company frameworks, estimates or commercial negotiations would be advantageous.
