Quantity Surveyor

An established and highly successful Civil Engineering Contractor is looking to appoint a Quantity Surveyor to join its growing commercial team

Operating across a diverse portfolio, the business has built an excellent reputation for delivering quality schemes for both public and private sector clients. The company has a strong order book and a long-standing client base, with projects typically valued up to £2m-£3m

The Role
Reporting into the Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in the commercial management of multiple projects from contract award through to final account

Key duties will include:

• Managing project costs and budgets throughout the project
• Preparing valuations, applications for payment and final accounts
• Identifying, pricing and agreeing variations
• Procurement and management of subcontractor packages
• Reviewing and negotiating subcontractor accounts
• Monitoring project performance and cost reporting
• Managing cash flow and forecasting
• Identifying commercial risks and opportunities

We are keen to speak with Quantity Surveyors who have experience within Civil Engineering, Infrastructure, Highways, Groundworks or General Construction environments

You will ideally possess:

• Previous Quantity Surveying experience within Construction or Civil Engineering
• Strong commercial and contractual awareness
• Good understanding of NEC and JCT
• Experience managing subcontractor accounts and valuations
• Excellent numerical, analytical and negotiation skills
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
• A proactive and organised approach to managing multiple projects simultaneously
• Ability to work collaboratively within both commercial and operational teams
