What you'll be doing:
* Ensure compliance with trading regulations, including market conduct requirements, exchange rules, and transaction surveillance
* Advise senior management and trading teams on regulatory matters, upcoming changes, and potential impacts as the business grows
* Develop and implement policies and procedures to meet local and cross-jurisdictional (or international) regulatory and market conduct rules
* Perform regulatory reviews, surveillance, and monitoring to confirm trades meet applicable rules and protect the firm's reputation
* Work closely with Trading, Law, Market Risk, and Risk Operations to identify and resolve compliance risks or potential violations
* Act as the primary point of contact for regulatory bodies, responding to inquiries and maintaining positive relationships
* Create educational materials and deliver ongoing training and mentorship to the Trading Community on compliance matters and best practices
* Analyse emerging regulatory trends, support strategic compliance initiatives, and assess the compliance impact of new transactions and products
* Provide clear, transparent compliance status updates and recommendations-including engaging in debate with Trading when needed
What you'll bring:
* In-depth knowledge of commodities trading compliance and strong experience conducting risk assessments and compliance monitoring
* The ability to interpret complex regulatory frameworks and translate them into practical, operational guidance
* Proven expertise with trade surveillance tools and compliance/surveillance systems (including ETRMs and regulatory reporting systems such as ICE/CME)
* Strong communication skills to present regulatory updates and compliance reports to senior executives and external stakeholders
* Leadership capability to influence cross-functional teams and mentor others
* Attention to detail, with confidence investigating discrepancies and potential violations
* Strong problem-solving and project management skills, balancing multiple priorities and deadlines efficiently
Additional information:
* Minimum requirements include 5+ years in commodities trading compliance (or related regulatory roles), with 2+ years using trade surveillance tools
