This role puts you at the heart of one of GMS's most prestigious contracts: a Jaguar Land Rover site in Coventry. Beyond day-to-day security, you'll build a real technical specialism in fire safety and prevention, with fully funded FREC and BAFE qualifications, and a clear path to further progression within the business.
What you'll be doing
Conducting monthly fire safety reviews and annual fire evacuation schedules across the site
Administering hot work permits to reduce fire risk
Patrolling vulnerable areas and the car park, and managing vehicle infringements
Carrying out hydrant, sprinkler, fire alarm and security intruder alarm tests on a rolling schedule
Maintaining and servicing fire extinguishers
Responding to and helping control emergency situations, including fires, on site
Providing First Response Emergency Care (FREC) medical response
Assisting local authority emergency services
Conducting vehicle and personnel searches, and assisting with gate operations
Supporting fire marshal training and equipment maintenance checks
What you'll need
SIA Licence (Security or Door Supervisor) - mandatory
A UK driving licence - mandatory
The ability to pass a fitness test for this role
Excellent communication skills and computer literacy
A professional demeanour with sound judgement
Strong customer service skills
The initiative to work independently, and the willingness to work as part of a team
Punctuality you take seriously
Full training is provided. Once in post, you'll work towards a FREC certificate (Intermediate) with AED and level two medical gases within your first day of training, and a BAFE Fire Extinguisher Technician certificate within 6 months.
