Security Manager in Feltham, London
Posted by Right Now Recruitment
Right Now Group are currently recruiting for an experienced Security Manager to join a leading international organisation operating within a highly secure, specialist logistics environment in the Heathrow area.
This is a key leadership appointment within the business, taking responsibility for the day-to-day security operation while working closely with senior management, operational teams and the wider organisation.
The successful candidate will need a strong background within security; however, this appointment is just as much about leadership style, communication and teamwork as it is technical security experience.
We are looking for someone who is approachable, visible and collaborative. Someone who can work autonomously and make confident decisions when required, but who doesn't operate in isolation.
The Security Manager will be expected to build strong relationships throughout the organisation, understand the operational requirements of different departments and ensure Security works effectively alongside the wider business.
You will lead and develop the security team, manage incidents and investigations, oversee physical security procedures and systems, identify potential risks and continuously look for opportunities to strengthen the overall security operation.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced security professional who wants to become an integral part of the management team and have genuine influence over how security is delivered across the organisation.
Responsibilities of the Security Manager:
- Take responsibility for the effective day-to-day management of the security function.
- Lead, manage, support and develop members of the security team.
- Establish clear expectations, accountability and consistently high standards across the department.
- Work collaboratively with senior management, operational teams and other departments across the business.
- Build strong relationships and ensure Security is an integral part of the wider operation.
- Oversee site security procedures, security coverage and incident response.
- Manage access control, badging, visitor screening and credential-management processes.
- Lead and coordinate responses to security incidents and operational security concerns.
- Manage security investigations, escalation logs and subsequent corrective actions.
- Ensure incidents are appropriately investigated, documented and followed through to conclusion.
- Develop effective processes and controls around security incidents and investigations.
- Review existing security procedures and identify potential vulnerabilities or areas for improvement.
- Work closely with internal and external stakeholders responsible for CCTV, alarms, access-control systems and other security technology.
- Ensure security systems are effectively monitored and any issues or escalations are appropriately resolved.
- Review security risks, operational requirements, performance and resource requirements.
- Oversee security audits, drills, training records and associated compliance documentation.
- Ensure appropriate corrective actions are implemented following audits, incidents or identified security risks.
- Analyse security performance and identify trends, vulnerabilities and opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Support effective resource and workforce planning within the security function.
- Provide practical security guidance and support to managers and colleagues throughout the organisation.
- Communicate security requirements clearly and effectively across different departments and levels of seniority.
- Promote a positive, proactive and collaborative security culture throughout the business.
- Remain calm, professional and decisive during incidents and rapidly changing situations.
The successful Security Manager will have:
- Strong previous experience within Security Operations, Protection, Risk Management or a similarly security-sensitive environment.
- Previous experience managing, leading and developing a security team.
- Strong knowledge of physical and site security.
- Experience managing security incidents and investigations.
- Knowledge and experience of access control, CCTV, alarms and wider security systems.
- Experience within a highly secure, regulated, high-value or operationally complex environment would be highly advantageous.
- Excellent people-management and leadership capabilities.
- A genuinely collaborative and team-focused management style.
- The ability to work independently while remaining closely connected to the wider business.
- Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to establish credibility across different departments.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- The ability to influence and bring people with you rather than simply instruct.
- Confidence to challenge existing practices when necessary while remaining pragmatic and solutions-focused.
- Strong judgement and decision-making capabilities.
- The ability to remain composed and make effective decisions under pressure.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- A proactive approach to identifying security risks and implementing improvements.
- A genuine interest in developing people and strengthening the overall security culture.
No specific degree or professional security qualification is required. The business is primarily interested in finding someone with the right combination of relevant security experience, leadership capability, judgement, communication skills and approach to teamwork.
Security Manager Package:
- £60,000 - £80,000 basic salary, depending on experience
- Private medical cover
- Monday - Friday
- Senior security leadership position
- Opportunity to have genuine influence over the security operation
- Opportunity to lead and develop an established security function

This opportunity could suit an experienced Security Manager, Senior Security Manager, Security Operations Manager, Security & Risk Manager, Protective Security Manager, Deputy Head of Security or Head of Security looking for their next senior appointment.
Experience within secure logistics, high-value goods, aviation, air cargo, cash and valuables, transport or another security-sensitive operational environment would be particularly relevant. However, the business is open to considering strong security leaders from other sectors where the experience is transferable.
Above all, the business is looking for a genuine team player - someone who can bring strong security expertise to the organisation while building relationships, developing people and working collaboratively with the wider operation.
