Our client, a leading provider of facilities services in the UK, is seeking a Security Supervisor to ensure the delivery of a high-quality security service for patients, staff, visitors and contractors across hospital premises and car parks.

The successful candidate will lead the security team in accordance with Security Industry Authority (SIA) guidelines, company standards and Trust specifications. This role is responsible for ensuring that security operations are delivered effectively while maintaining a safe and secure environment for all site users.

Job Description

The position requires an organised and proactive individual who can provide direction, guidance and support to the security team while maintaining efficient day-to-day operations. A strong commitment to service improvement, compliance and operational excellence is essential, along with the ability to respond effectively to incidents and changing service demands.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise, lead and support the security team, including performance, welfare and disciplinary matters.
  • Allocate staff and manage daily security operations, rotas and service standards.
  • Respond to emergencies, incidents and security-related situations, liaising with emergency services when required.
  • Train and develop staff, ensuring compliance with SIA, Trust and company procedures.
  • Monitor service quality, records, reports and staff performance, taking appropriate action where necessary.
  • Liaise professionally with patients, staff, visitors, contractors and external agencies.
  • Manage security equipment, uniforms, radios and personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety, confidentiality, data protection and security policies while identifying and reporting risks and opportunities for service improvement.

Person Specification

  • Previous team leadership and supervision experience.
  • Knowledge of security operations and incident management.
  • Emergency response and conflict management skills.
  • Experience of staff training and performance management.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding of SIA requirements, health and safety, and compliance procedures.
  • Excellent organisation, reporting and record-keeping skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and make effective decisions under pressure.
  • Customer service and stakeholder management experience.
  • Valid SIA Licence.
