Brightstone Education Partners is recruiting for a SEN Class Teacher on behalf of an outstanding specialist school in the Reading / Wokingham area.

The successful candidate will be joining an experienced and supportive team, working closely with teaching assistants, therapists, families, and senior leaders to deliver outstanding outcomes for pupils.

The Role

As a SEN Class Teacher, you will:

  • Deliver engaging and highly personalised lessons tailored to individual learning needs
  • Support pupils with a range of learning difficulties and additional needs
  • Create a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment
  • Work collaboratively with support staff, therapists, and families
  • Monitor progress and contribute to EHCP reviews and target setting
  • Promote pupil independence, confidence, communication, and wellbeing
  • Adapt teaching approaches to meet a variety of learning styles and abilities
  • Effectively manage and support complex behaviours where required

The Ideal Candidate

The school is looking for someone who:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Has a passion for teaching children and young people with SEND
  • Demonstrates high professional standards and strong classroom practice
  • Is a skilled communicator and collaborative team player
  • Can build positive relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues
  • Has a nurturing, resilient, and adaptable approach
  • Is committed to continuous professional development
  • Can confidently lead and inspire within their classroom

Previous SEND experience would be advantageous, although applications are welcomed from mainstream teachers looking to transition into specialist education.
