A small, supportive SEND school in Hemel Hempstead is looking for a committed SEND Teacher to join their team. The school provides a structured, practical approach to learning, supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, including ASD, communication and interaction needs, and associated learning difficulties.
You will plan and deliver accessible, engaging lessons tailored to individual needs, using clear routines, visual supports and differentiated activities where appropriate. You will work closely with teaching assistants, SENCO and other staff to support pupils' learning, communication, behaviour and independence.
The role includes:
Teaching small groups and/or individual pupils with SEND
Adapting lessons to meet different learning and communication needs
Supporting pupils with ASD and sensory needs
Working closely with teaching assistants and the wider school team
Maintaining a calm, structured and positive learning environment
Contributing to pupil progress and individual learning plans
Previous SEND experience is desirable, but teachers with a genuine interest in moving into SEND are also encouraged to apply.
