The Role
As a SEN Teacher, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality teaching and learning to pupils with a range of additional needs.
You will:
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs
- Create a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment
- Support pupils in achieving their academic, social, and emotional goals
- Monitor progress and contribute to EHCP reviews and target setting
- Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, parents, and external professionals
- Promote independence, resilience, and positive behaviour
- Contribute to the wider life and development of the school
The Ideal Candidate
The school is looking for someone who:
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Has a passion for supporting children and young people with additional needs
- Demonstrates excellent classroom practice and behaviour management
- Can build positive relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues
- Has strong communication and organisational skills
- Is patient, adaptable, and committed to inclusive education
- Has a genuine desire to improve outcomes for every pupil
Previous SEND experience would be advantageous, but applications are welcomed from teachers looking to transition from mainstream education into a specialist setting.
