Location: Chester
Start Date:

Contract:
Temporary
Salary:
£130 to £140

Are you looking for a teaching role where you can truly make a difference?

Would you love the opportunity to teach a small class of just three pupils, giving you the time, space and support to build meaningful relationships and see the impact of your work every day?

Simply Education is delighted to be working with a welcoming independent school in Chester to recruit an exceptional SEN Teacher for their specialist provision starting this September.

Situated within easy reach of Chester, Ellesmere Port, Wrexham, Northwich, Winsford, Tarporley and the surrounding Cheshire area, this is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced teacher who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs in a calm, nurturing environment.

Unlike larger mainstream settings, this role allows you to focus on what brought you into teaching in the first place-helping children develop confidence, independence and a genuine love of learning.

About the Role:

You will be teaching a small class of three pupils with a range of additional needs, including:

  • Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC/ASD)
  • Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
  • Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA)

Every child has an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), and your role will be to deliver highly personalised learning within a predictable, low-arousal environment where every pupil feels safe, understood and valued.

Working alongside experienced Teaching Assistants and specialist professionals, you'll have the opportunity to make a genuine difference to each child's educational and emotional journey.

We're Looking for Someone Who:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Has experience teaching pupils with Special Educational Needs.
  • Understands Autism and inclusive classroom practice.
  • Can support children with communication and interaction needs, anxiety and emotional regulation.
  • Is confident using differentiated teaching strategies and adapting learning to individual EHCP outcomes.
  • Understands or has experience supporting pupils with PDA using flexible, low-demand and child-centred approaches.
  • Builds strong, trusting relationships with pupils, families and colleagues.
  • Remains calm, patient and compassionate, even during challenging situations.

What You'll gain:

  • A rewarding opportunity to teach a class of only three pupils.
  • A supportive leadership team that values staff well-being.
  • Ongoing specialist SEN training and professional development.
  • The chance to work alongside therapists and experienced SEN professionals.
  • Competitive salary based on experience.
  • The opportunity to make a lasting difference to children's lives every single day.

Whether you're already working in specialist education or are an experienced teacher looking to move into a more personalised SEN setting, we'd love to hear from you.
