We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive school in Ealing. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to make a genuine difference to pupils' academic, social and emotional development while working as part of a supportive and experienced school team.
Main Duties
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities will include:
- Providing 1:1 and small-group supportto pupils with SEN.
- Supporting pupils to access the curriculum and engage positively with learning.
- Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement individual support strategies.
- Assisting with targeted interventions and differentiated learning activities.
- Supporting pupils' social, emotional and behavioural development.
- Helping pupils develop greater independence, confidence and positive learning behaviours.
- Building positive, trusting and professional relationships with pupils.
- Providing encouragement and reassurance to pupils who may experience barriers to learning.
- Supporting classroom activities and maintaining a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment.
- Monitoring pupils' progress and providing feedback to teaching staff.
- Have previous experience working with children or young people, particularly those with SEN.
- Have a genuine passion for helping pupils overcome barriers to learning.
- Be patient, empathetic and able to build positive relationships with children.
- Have a calm and consistent approach when supporting pupils who may display challenging behaviours.
- Be confident working both independently and as part of a wider school team.
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Be proactive, reliable and adaptable.
