Senior Health Care Assistant

As a Senior Health Care Assistant, you will provide essential care and support to patients, ensuring their comfort, dignity, and well-being. You will assist with personal care, mobility, medication, and health monitoring, while supervising junior care staff and ensuring high standards of care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with personal care, including bathing, dressing, feeding, and toileting.
  • Support mobility, transfers, and physical exercises.
  • Administer medication according to care plans and training.
  • Monitor and record patients’ health, symptoms, and behaviour.
  • Supervise and support junior HCAs.
  • Contribute to team meetings and improve patient care.

Requirements:

  • Health & Social Care NVQ Level 3–5.
  • Valid DBS or willingness to complete one.
  • Medication Administration Practical Training Certificate.
  • Moving & Handling Practical Training Certificate.
  • Previous senior healthcare or supervisory experience.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Good knowledge of healthcare standards and regulations.
