About the Role
Eden Brown Synergy is currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Practitioner to join the Child in Care Team at Kent County Council, based in Kings Hill.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Social Worker or Senior Practitioner with strong Children in Care / Looked After Children (LAC) experience to join a supportive team and help achieve positive outcomes for children and young people.
The successful candidate will manage a complex caseload, undertake statutory social work responsibilities and work closely with children, families, carers and partner agencies.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of children in care, ensuring their needs, wishes and feelings remain central to all planning and decision-making.
- Complete high-quality assessments, care plans and statutory reviews.
- Undertake statutory visits and ensure all legislative and procedural requirements are met.
- Develop and progress effective permanence plans for children and young people.
- Work closely with foster carers, families, schools, health professionals and other partner agencies.
- Identify and respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns and risks.
- Prepare high-quality reports for Looked After Children Reviews, meetings and court proceedings where required.
- Maintain accurate and timely case records in line with Kent County Council procedures.
- Promote positive outcomes and ensure children receive appropriate care, support and opportunities.
- Provide guidance and support to less experienced Social Workers where required.
Requirements
- Social Work England registration.
- Relevant Social Work qualification.
- Significant experience within Children's Social Care.
- Strong experience working with Children in Care / Looked After Children.
- Good knowledge of relevant legislation, safeguarding procedures and statutory social work practice.
- Experience managing complex caseloads within a local authority setting.
- Excellent communication, assessment and report-writing skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
