Senior Quality Engineer in Rotherham

Are you an experienced Quality Engineer looking for a role where you can take real ownership of quality, lead complex investigations and make a visible impact across the wider business?

Elevation Recruitment Group are working with a well-established manufacturing business operating in a technically complex environment, and they are looking to appoint a Senior Quality Engineer to join their Quality team.

This is a hands-on, cross-functional role where you will act as a senior point of contact for Quality across manufacturing, suppliers, R&D and the wider business. You will lead complex quality investigations, drive corrective actions through to completion and help strengthen the company's Quality Management System and culture.

Reporting to the Quality Manager, you will take a lead role in:

• Leading cross-functional 8D investigations across supplier, manufacturing, R&D and customer quality issues.
• Driving investigations from initial containment and risk assessment through to root cause, corrective action and verified effectiveness.
• Providing technical guidance, coaching and support to other members of the Quality Team.
• Taking ownership of the company's internal audit programme, including planning, conducting and reporting audits and following up corrective actions.
• Leading supplier quality investigations, including non-conformances, SCAR/8D responses, recurring defects and supplier improvement activity.
• Working closely with Manufacturing to investigate process defects and improve process controls.
• Supporting R&D, Product and Project teams with FMEA, risk assessment, quality planning, design reviews, change control and NPI.
• Supporting the continued development and improvement of the ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
• Supporting ISO 27001, certification, customer and external audits where required.
• Using quality data, KPIs and Lean Six Sigma techniques to identify trends and drive continuous improvement.
• Ensuring quality investigations, audits, non-conformances and corrective actions are accurately documented and traceable.
• Acting as a strong voice for the customer and helping to embed a proactive quality culture across the business.

We are looking for an experienced Quality professional who is confident working across different functions and can challenge constructively when quality standards or processes need to improve.

You will ideally have:

• Previous experience working within an ISO 9001 manufacturing environment.
• Proven experience leading 8D, root cause analysis and CAPA investigations through to sustainable closure.
• Practical internal auditing experience, ideally including ownership of an audit programme.
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent structured continuous improvement experience.
• Strong analytical skills and experience using quality data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
• Good knowledge of manufacturing processes, engineering drawings, specifications and process controls.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to influence stakeholders across the business.
• Excellent organisation and follow-through, with the ability to manage multiple investigations and competing priorities.
• A practical, evidence-based approach to problem solving and a strong customer focus.
