Role Description

The Quantity Surveyor will support commercial-to-residential development projects from pre-contract to final account. The Quantity Surveyor will collaborate closely with project managers, site teams, and external stakeholders to ensure budgets are maintained, risks are managed, and financial records are accurate. The role also includes contributing to continuous improvement of the company’s “Proven Process” by providing data-driven insights and lessons learned from completed projects.

Occasional travel to Hertford and Clapham will be required

Day-to-day responsibilities

Preparing and reviewing Bills of Quantities (BOQ)

Contributing to cost planning

Supporting tender preparation and evaluation 

Monitoring project costsp

Udating cost reports

Managing change control

Advising on the financial implications of design and construction decisions
 

Qualifications

Candidates should possess strong cost management skills, including Cost Control, Cost Management, and Cost Planning.

Candidates should possess expertise in quantity measurement and documentation, including BOQ preparation and related estimating practices.

Candidates should possess abilities in financial tracking and reporting, including Cost Reporting and cash flow monitoring.

Relevant qualifications such as a degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field are highly beneficial.

Membership or progress toward membership of a professional body (e.g., RICS or equivalent) is an advantage.

Strong analytical, numerical, and Excel skills, along with attention to detail and the ability to interpret drawings and technical specifications.

Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work with multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Experience in UK construction, particularly residential or permitted development projects, is beneficial
