Service Manager – Supported Living

Location: Gloucester
Salary: £34,132.80 per annum
Hours: 37.5 hours per week

We are recruiting for an experienced and values-driven Service Manager to oversee a cluster of supported living services in Gloucester, supporting adults with learning disabilities, autism and complex care needs to live fulfilling, independent lives in their own homes.

The Role

Working alongside the Registered Manager and wider management team, you will be responsible for ensuring services operate safely, effectively and in line with regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading, supporting and supervising Support Workers, including recruitment, training, supervision and appraisals.

  • Ensuring high-quality, person-centred support is consistently delivered.

  • Developing and reviewing individual care and support plans.

  • Promoting independence, choice, wellbeing and positive outcomes.

  • Ensuring compliance with CQC regulations, legislation and organisational policies.

  • Building positive relationships with individuals, families, advocates and external professionals.

  • Supporting safeguarding, risk management and incident reporting.

  • Contributing to audits, quality assurance, inspections and continuous improvement.

  • Promoting health and safety across the services.

  • Responding effectively to incidents, emergencies and changing service requirements.

  • Working flexibly across a 7-day rota, including occasional sleep-in duties.

  • Providing direct support when required and acting as a positive role model for best practice.

About You

We are looking for someone with:

  • Previous supervisory or management experience within supported living, learning disabilities or adult social care.

  • Strong knowledge of person-centred care and CQC requirements.

  • Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.

  • A genuine commitment to improving the lives of the people you support.

  • The ability to manage multiple services and prioritise effectively.

Desirable Qualifications & Experience

  • QCF/NVQ Level 4 or 5 in Health & Social Care, or equivalent.

  • Experience or training in Positive Behaviour Support, Active Support, PBM, Makaton or BSL.

Additional Information

  • 37.5 hours per week.

  • Flexibility required to meet service needs across a 7-day rota.

  • Occasional sleep-in duties.

  • Opportunity to accompany the people supported on holidays in the UK and overseas.

  • No direct budget responsibility, although you will be expected to contribute to effective financial management.
