Setting Out Engineer in Perth, Perth and Kinross

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Setting Out Engineer to join a major highways infrastructure project in Scotland, supporting the delivery of the structures package.

The Role

• Delivering setting out and engineering duties across the structures package.
• Setting out foundations, abutments, piers, retaining walls and associated structural elements.
• Ensuring all works are set out accurately in accordance with construction drawings and project specifications.
• Carrying out surveying duties using GPS, total stations and other relevant equipment.
• Checking line, level, alignment and dimensions throughout construction.
• Completing as-built surveys and maintaining accurate site records.
• Liaising with Site Agents, Site Engineers, subcontractors and the wider project team.
• Monitoring quality, progress and compliance with health and safety requirements.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Setting Out Engineer on civil engineering, highways or infrastructure projects.
• Experience working on structures packages, including bridges, retaining walls or reinforced concrete structures.
• Competent in using GPS, total stations and other surveying equipment.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Relevant engineering qualifications or demonstrable equivalent experience.

Contract Details

• Rate: £350–£450 per day, depending on experience.
• Start date: ASAP.
• Duration: 18 months.
• Location: Scotland, Perthshire area.
• Accommodation and a vehicle may be available!
