Location: Near Wrexham

Salary: Up to £49,000

Shift: 4 on 4 off (2 Days / 2 Nights) | 7:00am - 7:00pm / 7:00pm - 7:00am

A leading FMCG manufacturer in the Wrexham area is looking to strengthen its engineering team with an experienced Shift Maintenance Engineer. This is a hands-on, multi-skilled role working across a busy production site, maintaining a varied range of automated machinery and ensuring equipment remains safe, reliable and available for production.

You'll carry out a combination of planned preventative maintenance and reactive breakdown support, using your electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills to diagnose issues and minimise downtime. Alongside day-to-day maintenance, you'll have the opportunity to get involved in root cause analysis, equipment improvements and wider engineering projects aimed at improving reliability and site performance.

Non-Negotiable Requirements of the Shift Maintenance Engineer

• NVQ Level 3 Engineering qualification (or equivalent).
• Multi-Skilled Maintenance experience.
• Previous manufacturing maintenance experience.
• Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding ability.

Requirements for the Shift Maintenance Engineer

• Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM).
• Reactive breakdown maintenance.
• Electrical and mechanical fault finding.
• Reading electrical and mechanical engineering drawings.
• Basic PLC I/O understanding.
• Motors, drives, gearboxes and transmission systems.
• Bearings, brakes and closed-loop feedback systems.
• Continuous Improvement.
• Root Cause Analysis.
• CMMS experience.
• Health & Safety awareness.

Desirable Requirements for the Shift Maintenance Engineer

• Food or FMCG manufacturing experience.
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
• SCADA or machine control systems.
• Variable Speed Drives (VSDs).
• Fabrication or welding experience.
• MEWP licence.
• Health & Safety qualification.

The Shift Maintenance Engineer will benefit from:

• 4 on 4 off shift pattern (2 Days / 2 Nights).
• 20 days annual leave (Bank Holidays taken from annual leave, excluding Christmas Day and New Year's Day).
