Site Manager / Project Manager – Tunnelling & Shaft Sinking

Location: Yorkshire & Lancashire (multiple sites)
Rate: £400-£500 per day
Job Type: Contract with permanent opportunities

We're working with a well-established civil engineering contractor with an impressive pipeline of tunnelling and shaft sinking projects across Yorkshire and Lancashire. Due to continued growth and a strong order book, they're looking to appoint experienced Site Managers and Project Managers to join their team.

This is an excellent opportunity to work on technically challenging infrastructure projects with the potential to secure a permanent position for the right candidate.

The Role

You'll be responsible for the safe and successful delivery of tunnelling and shaft sinking works, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing day-to-day site operations
  • Leading site teams, subcontractors and suppliers
  • Ensuring health, safety and environmental compliance
  • Monitoring programme, quality and productivity
  • Liaising with clients, engineers and key stakeholders
  • Producing site documentation and progress reports
  • Driving programme delivery and resolving site issues

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Site Manager or Project Manager on tunnelling, shaft sinking or heavy civil engineering projects
  • Strong understanding of NEC contracts and project delivery
  • SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid (essential)
  • Temporary Works knowledge is advantageous
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across Yorkshire and Lancashire
